Ankylosing spondylitis is another kind of arthritis that affects joints and ligaments of the spine. Ankylosing means stiff and spondylo means vertebra.
Ankylosing spondylitis can affect large joints, and may also effect in your eyes, skin, bowel, and heart.
there is no known cure but treatment can relieve pain and other symptoms.

Causes of ankylosing spondylitis

The causative agent is unknown. However, genetics may play a role,

the most common symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis is
  • lower back pain(LBP) 
  •  buttock pain, its may be increase in bed at night
  • stiffness after long periods of rest or morning
  • major joint pain
  • exessive pain in tendons and ligaments, especially in the chest wall, soles of the feet, or heels
  • its may problems with heart, lungs, bowel, skin, and eyes.

Ankylosing spondylitis diagnosis

 

  •   X-ray of joint where pain is occur
  •  blood tests such as uric acid RA test etc
  •   may be referred to a joint specialist.

Ankylosing spondylitis treatments

The aim of treatment is to reduce pain and stiffness and prevent spinal deformity or other complications
  physiotherapy is helpfull and different types of exercise of the back,its reduce pain.

used NSAIDs to reduced pain
and vit b1 to B6 and pregabalin for neuropatic pain.
Baclofen is also usefull
if there is no improvements then surgery is indicate for replace or remove effected joints.
 However, most people don’t need surgery.
